The Lifton Benefice comprises the Churches of St.Mary - Lifton, St.Nicholas - Broadwoodwidger, St.John the Baptist - Stowford, St.Peter - Lewtrenchard, St.George - Thrushelton & St.Mary - Kelly.
Our churches are within small rural parishes having irregular services. As a community we move between them so as to be able to worship every week.
A Note of Welcome from our Priest-in-Charge
I am delighted that you have found this website, the official Internet presence of the Lifton Benefice, a group of Church of England Country parishes in West Devon.
Whether you have found us by accident, or because you have some existing link with our communities, you are most welcome.
The Churches of the Lifton Benefice are continually searching for, and discovering, God’s purpose for us in these days of change. We are committed to worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness in word and sacrament, to being a safe and secure place for all people of whatever age and background to find the truth’s of the Christian Faith, and to spread the joy and love of Jesus to, and within our communities.
At present we live though circumstances that none of us could ever have imagined, and that has meant that the Church has had to, very suddenly, change the way we work. This has meant that all of us have had to learn an awful lot very quickly, and will be doing so for quite some time.
Do please join us in our prayer and worship, either by following our Prayer Calendar, or on our various digital platforms, and when the current travel restrictions are lifted, then please do come and visit us in this glorious part of God’s creation.
With Love and prayers
Philip James Conway
